The
first
kelp
bed
we
hit
yielded
some
really
nice
Dodos!

to
pull
one
up.

Here's
Joel
with
a
beauty.
This
fish
went
crazy
once
it
was
hooked!
It
spent
most
of
its
fight
leaping
out
of
the
water
in
hopes
of
ripping
Joel's
rod
out
of
his
hands.
Needless
to
say,
Joel
won
the
battle!

Does
Mike
look
familiar?
That's
because
he
works
on
the
Velocity
out
of
Stagnaro's
Fishing
in
Santa
Cruz,
CA.
Great
job
Mikey!

After
charging
up
after
lunch,
Zippy
landed
his
first
Dodo
ever.
Way
to
go
buddy!
Mike
Margrave
was
reminding
his
pal
Zippy
to
breathe
as
he
chased
his
fish
around
the
deck.
Notice
AJ
with
the
Kung-Fu
grip!
This
fish
wasn't
gonna
get
away.

Capatin
Cavanaugh
pulled
the
Pacific
Queen
slowly
up
to
the
paddy
and
you
could
see
there
were
some
swimmers
breezing
around
this
paddy.
Edgar
worked
hard
to
get
the
charter,
raffle
and
everything
together
so
we
thought
we
would
thank
him
by
giving
him
the
initial
cast
on
the
first
paddy
of
the
day.
Yeah
right.
Once
the
Captain
gave
the
all
clear
we
all
threw
some
lively
sardines
at
the
nice
paddy
and
hoped
for
a
hookup.
The
Captain
did
a
good
job
of
explaining
the
importance
of
not
throwing
baits
on
the
paddy
before
the
boat
was
fully
stopped
and
in
position.
Anyone
throwing
early
would
be
sent
to
the
penalty
box
and
be
forced
to
watch
the
action
for
5
minutes
with
a
live
sardine
in
their
nose.
I'm
still
picking
a
few
scales
out
of
my
right
nostril
but
everyone
did
a
great
job
of
waiting
till
the
all
clear
signal
before
throwing
out.
Edgar
showed
us
all
how
its
done
when
he
hooked
and
landed
the
first
nice
dorado
of
the
day
anyway.

Paul
grabbed
the
liveliest
sardine
out
of
the
bait
tank
that
he
could
find
and
threw
it
out
next
to
the
paddy.
This
big
dorado
gobbled
it
up
in
a
second
and
a
soon
Paul
was
onto
his
first
nice
fish
of
the
day.

Dorado

Big
dorado
were
jumping
all
over
the
place
so
you
really
had
to
stay
in
front
on
them
and
pull
to
get
them
to
the
boat

Wayne Brown
10-1-2006

Wayne
kept
saying
that
he
was
hooked
up
into
a
nice
one
but
none
of
his
friends
beleived
him.
They
yelled
"tighten
up
that
drag",
"pull
on
that
little
thing"
and
"Wayne,
you
got
that
thing
up
yet"
as
he
leaned
back
and
watched
the
line
peeling
off
of
his
reel.
Wayne
knew
what
he
was
doing,
the
drag
was
tight.
Don't
mess
with
it.
He
knew
his
frieds
were
just
jealous
that
he
was
hooked
up
and
about
to
meet
up
with
a
nice
pretty
little
dodo
while
they
stood
at
the
rail
telling
woulda',
coulda',
shoulda',
stories.

Wayne
had
to
use
every
trick
in
his
bag
to
get
this
pretty
girl
to
the
boat
because
this
one
was
playing
hard
to
get.

I
could
barely
believe
it
either
but
Wayne
sweet
talked
this
nice
female
dorado
into
joining
him
on
the
boat
for
a
little
bit
of
who
knows
what.

It
took
awhile
and
there
was
alot
of
fighting
back
and
forth
but
Wayne
and
his
new
friend
finally
met.
You
know
I
think
this
relationship
is
really
gonna
work
out
for
Wayne
and
DoDo,
they
seem
perfect
for
each
other,
both
colorful
charectors.
We
had
Justin
stick
the
gaff
in
her
just
in
case
she
changed
her
mind
once
she
got
on
the
boat
and
met
Wayne.
We
didn't
wanna
be
listening
to
any
sob
stories
for
the
rest
of
the
trip.

Maybe
we
should
give
these
two
a
little
time
together
to
work
this
out.
Wayne
couldn't
keep
his
hands
off
of
this
nice
one,
but
she
was
still
a
little
upset
about
the
gaff
in
the
side
and
didn't
wanna
play
no
more.
I
can
tell
when
a
relationship
is
gonna
get
ugly
and
I'm
telling
you
now.
Wayne
get
out
of
this
one
while
you
still
got
all
you're
fingers.
I've
seen
this
type
before.
This
ones
trouble.
Theres'
plenty
more
fish
in
this
sea
!!
